The Admin License page in SearchBlox provides a detailed overview of the current license information and system configuration. Here's a breakdown of the information displayed:

• SearchBlox Version: Shows the installed version of SearchBlox.

• Edition: Specifies the edition of SearchBlox (e.g., Standard, Enterprise).

• Licensed Customer Name: Displays the name of the customer or organization associated with the license.

• API Key: Shows the unique API key linked to the license.

• Document Limit: Indicates the maximum number of documents allowed under the current license.

• IP Address and Server Configuration:

  • IP Address: The IP address of the server where SearchBlox is installed.
  • Operating System: The OS running on the server.
  • Java Version: The version of Java installed on the server.
  • Memory Available/Free: The amount of available and free memory on the server.
  • Support Subscription Information: Displays the details of the support plan, including its type and validity (e.g., Basic, Premium).

SearchBlox offers three distinct editions based on the type of license: Free Edition, Enterprise Edition, and Encryption Edition, each tailored to support different use cases and operational requirements.

Free Edition

• Target Users: Designed for small-scale projects or users who want to explore SearchBlox’s core features.
• Key Features:
  1. Supports one collection by default.
  2. Allows indexing of up to 5,000 documents or URLs.
  3. Suitable for basic search needs and evaluation purposes.
  • Limitations:
  1. Limited scalability due to collection and document restrictions.
  2. Does not include advanced features such as encryption or support for multiple collections.

Enterprise Edition

• Target Users: Designed for organizations that need a scalable, reliable, and high-performance search platform.
• Key Features:
  • No limit on the number of collections that can be created.
  • No limit on the number of documents that can be indexed.
  • Suitable for large-scale deployments and enterprise-grade applications.
• Advantages:
  • Offers high scalability and flexibility for diverse search requirements.
  • Supports advanced search features, configurations, and integrations.

Encryption Edition

• Target Users: Organizations that require strict data security and must meet compliance standards.
• Key Features:
  1. No limit on the number of collections that can be created.
  2. No limit on the number of documents that can be indexed.
  3. Special Feature: Supports the creation of encrypted collections for secure data storage and retrieval.
  • Advantages:
  1. Provides enhanced data protection through encryption.
  2. Well suited for industries such as healthcare, finance, and government where data privacy and security are essential.

Note:

The license page for the Encryption Edition appears similar to the Enterprise Edition; however, the encryption option is enabled in this version.

Uploading a License

To upload a new or updated license:

1. Navigate to the License page in the SearchBlox Admin interface.
2. Click Upload License.
3. Select the license file from your local system.
4. Confirm the upload, and the system will validate and apply the new license.
