Schedules

The Schedules tab in the SearchBlox Admin interface provides an easy way to view and manage all your scheduled tasks, such as Collection Indexing and ChatBot Training. Its simple layout lets users quickly see what tasks are scheduled and when they will run.

Key Features of the Schedules Tab

• Calendar View:
  The Schedules tab displays all scheduled tasks in a calendar format, making it easy to view everything at a glance. You can switch between day, week, or month views depending on the level of detail you need. Use the left and right arrows beside the current date to navigate to past or upcoming schedules.
  Scheduled Tasks:
  Collection Indexing: This process updates your collections to keep search results fresh. Indexing can be scheduled to run automatically at different intervals, such as daily, weekly, or monthly, based on your requirements.
• ChatBot Training: ChatBot training updates the chatbot with new information so it can provide better answers. Training tasks can be scheduled just like indexing tasks, and regular training ensures the chatbot continues to improve.
• Color-Coding: Tasks are color-coded based on their frequency for easy reference. The legend at the bottom of the page explains the meaning of each color and time interval.

  5. Every 96 Hours (Light Cyan)
  6. Weekly (Orange)
  7. Monthly (Green)

How to Schedule Tasks

1. Collection Indexing:
   Go to the Collections section. Use the Schedule and Index API or the Admin interface to set up indexing schedules. Choose the frequency—daily, weekly, or monthly—based on your needs.
2. ChatBot Training:
   Go to the ChatBot section and configure training schedules to ensure the chatbot is regularly updated with new data.

Navigating the Calendar
Use the left and right arrows to navigate between time periods (e.g., previous or next day, week, or month). Click on a specific task to view full details, edit the schedule, and make changes as needed. This makes the Schedules tab not just a viewer but also a place to manage tasks directly.

Example Use Case:
A company wants its search results and chatbot to always stay current.
They schedule daily indexing (Blue) for their product catalog so customers always see updated information.
They schedule weekly ChatBot training (Orange) so the bot stays updated with new customer questions.
This setup ensures the system stays accurate without manual effort.

By using the Schedules tab, you can automate key tasks, keep your SearchBlox system up to date, and ensure everything runs smoothly without the need for constant monitoring.
