SearchBlox Realm
SearchBlox Realm is a secure search method that uses SearchBlox’s built-in login system. Only authorized SearchBlox users can access the search page, providing a protected way to perform searches within SearchBlox.
Steps to Enable Secure Search for SearchBlox Realm
To enable secure search using SearchBlox Realm:
- Go to the Security tab in the Admin Search menu.
- Enable Private Security under Security Settings.
- Select SearchBlox Realm as the Security Type.
Configure Users for SearchBlox Realm
By default, one Super Admin user exists and can log in to Secure Search. For collection-based and encrypted searches, it is recommended to create additional users. See the Users and Roles documentation for details on the different user types.
Accessing Secure Search for SearchBlox Realm
You can access secure search by opening the following link or by clicking Search in the Admin dashboard. This will take you to the secure search login page:

By default, you can log in using the Admin username and password. After creating new users, all user types will be able to access the search page. The search results will display collections based on the user’s role or assigned group.

Collection-Based Search
Collection-based search is available to Manager users only.
To configure collection-based search:
- Create multiple Manager users and assign them to specific groups.
- Collections created by a Manager are visible only to Managers within the same group.
- Plan your groups and Manager assignments carefully before implementing collection-based search.

Features of SearchBlox Realm
Encrypted Content Access
SearchBlox Realm supports both encrypted content and encrypted field search.
Access permissions are as follows:
- Manager users with Sensitive Access enabled can view encrypted content.
- Admin users can access all collections, including encrypted content.
- Business Users and Manager users without Sensitive Access cannot view encrypted content.
